Ujar district is allocated at Shirvan plain. The territory of area is laid on lower see level. In district, it is observed climate of semi desert and dry steppes. Summer is hot. On the territory of the area, there are flowing Goychay and Turyan (Garasu) rivers. In flora of district an important place is occupied by licorice herb. Roots of that medicine plant are produced and dispatched abroad. Fauna is presented with such animals, as wolf, turaj, pheasant etc. From the east to the west, the territory of area is crossed with railroad Baku-Tbilisi and auto-magisterial route Baku-Gazakh. In Yukhari Shilyan village it is still being existed people`s handicraft - hand carpet weaving. The center of the district - Ujar city. One of the most significant pages in the history of Ujar was education of 416 Taganrog division in years during the Second World War. Memory on warriors of division is immortalized in monument having been erected in the city. In the city, there are stadiums, park to exist. Where to stay There is one hotel n the city.
